Government of Punjab responded on the tweets and sent rescue team to help the 4 injured people. The action was taken on the tweet of Nighat Daad, a twitter user and witness of the accident. Government of Punjab also provided details of the accidents and other measures taken by the rescue team in the tweet.
According to Nighat Daad’s Ffacebook Post, she was coming back from Faisalabad to Lahore when a severe accident took place on G.T Road resulted in four injuries. A woman and a child were also included among those who received injuries. Nighat Daad called 1122 and informed them about the unfortunate accident, but they refused to help due to the deficiency of ambulances and asked them to wait until the ambulances get free.
Nighat Daad tweeted at Punjab Government and they instantly replied. Punjab Government took the accident to the knowledge of DCO Sheikupura and rescue 112 team. Rescue teams were conveyed to the casualty site and recued all four persons. Later, the accident report was tweeted on by Punjab Government and sent to applicant as well. After the incident it’s not wrong to say that social media has revolutionized people’s lives and its positive use can bring immense benefits.
